Certification Levels and
Requirements
The national Board Of Orthodontics, U.S. is an independent,
nonprofit peer group. A five step ladder of Certification
will enable you to move upward at your own pace. Levels
are logically base on at accredited university training.
Post graduates specialization degrees, years of experience
in your chosen field, and an objective examination.
1. Board Certified Associate
Has completed a degree program in a recognized
school of dentistry.
Has accomplished a recognized preceptorship in orthodontics
(pre-1970)
Credentials have been verified.
Passed the Certification examination within eighteen
month of award of Board Certification.
2. Board Certified Diplomate
Has completed a degree program in a recognized school
of dentistry, and at least two years of post-graduate
course work in orthodontics resulting in a certificate
or a master's degree.
Credentials have been verified
Passed the Certification examination within eighteen
month of award of Board Certification.
3. Board Certified Fellow
Has been certified as a Diplomate by the National
Board Of orthodontics U.S.
Has completed six years in the exclusive practice
of orthodontics.
Has presented fully documented cases, approved by
the Advisory Board, at a Board-sponsored function,
in a lecture (instructive) format.
4. Board Certified Mentor
Has been certified as a Fellow by the National
Board of Orthodontics.
Has completed eight years in the exclusive practice
of orthodontics.
Presented and approved continuing education lecture
at a Board-sponsored function.

Certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant
National Board Of Orthodontics, U.S is known for providing
a modern practical path to Board Certification for the
University-trained orthodontist. We are now expanding
our program to include professional recognition for
Orthodontic Dental Assistants. Certification for dental
assistants is now required in most states. We have developed
a certification program specifically designed for Orthodontic
Assistants.
